I will cut to the chase! The only reason this record was made was because of Derick Evans. After about the 6th month of lockdown, we realized that we, like many people, were not happy at all. We hadn't made any music up until that point, and felt guilty for even feeling sad about that given the state of the world.

Against our better judgment, we decided to make 1 demo a week for 20 weeks and present what we had made to each other every Sunday. We called it “The Workshop”. Although I made most of the music alone (see below), I had a real partner to guide me along the way. I had something to make and something to look forward to. And I had a trusted friend to listen and provide feedback for everything that I was making. It helped me make sense of the long days, weeks, months (and now years). At the end of it, we took those 20 demos and finished 10 of them for our own respective records. That is what you hear above you on this page.

There's not much more to say about it. I hate when people wax poetic about their own art but now I'm doing that but mostly I'm waxing poetic about Derick Evans. Make sure you listen to his (really good!) record too - derickevans.bandcamp.com/album/breakers-of-a-dream
